Minutes T.S.C.A. Mid –Winter Meeting Tyler, Texas
March 8, 2003 President Jim “Garibaldy” Fite called the meeting of the
Texas Shrine Clown Association to order at 2:10 PM on March 8, 2003 Chaplain Josh “Goose” Fite offered invocation;
Parliamentarian Randell “Randy” Dunn was asked to lead the membership in
the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. President Jim Fite welcomed everyone to Tyler,
Texas. He said to all Wow, big
thanks for the outstanding attendance.
It just goes to show everyone our Association is as strong as it can
be and he appreciated everyone’s participations in the events of
competition. President Jim Fite introduced the following T. S. C. A.
Officers. Parliamentarian Randell
Dunn, Chaplin Josh Fite, Secretary / Treasurer Bob Mantle, 2nd
Vice President Eddie Cox, and 1st Vice President George
White. After introducing the head
table President Jim Fite introduced the three Assemblymen in attendance.
Bill Gill, Wayne Duncan, and Dewayne Cockran. President Jim Fite then requested a T.S.C.A. unit roll
call of unit. Roll call was given
by Secretary / Treasurer Bob Mantle.
During roll call each unit President was given the opportunity to
introduce their Divan Members and Dignitaries. There were fifteen (15 ) clown units out of eighteen
present at the meeting. The
following clown units were not in attendance. Al Amin Pharr, Khiva Amarillo, and
Maskat of Wichita Falls. All clown
units with the exception of Khiva of Amarillo have paid their 2003 dues. President Jim Fite then called for the reading of the
T.S.C.A. June 7, 2002 breakfast and special called meeting minutes of
October 26, 2002. A motion was made
by Vern King and seconded by Joe Cole to waive the reading of the minutes
and let them stand as they are written.
The motion carried by the show of hands. It was noted a copy of the minutes are posted on the Texas
Shrine Clown Web site for viewing. President Jim Fite then requested the reading of the
treasurers report. Secretary/ Treasurer
Bob Mantle read a complete detailed financial summary to the assembly. The beginning balance as of June 10,
2002 was $4,198.75. From June 10,
2002 through February 28, 2003 there has been $2,280.01 Deposited into the
account. There has been $1,505.20
in expenses through February 28, 2003.
Leaving a balance in the account as of February 28, 2003 $4,973.56. The members were reminded that the Association funds are
being tracked through the software account Quicken 2000. A motion was made and seconded to accept
the treasurer’s report as read. The
motion passed by unanimous vote.

TCSA President made a motion to make a $500.00 donation to the International
Sneaker Fund in memory of all the
deceased clown
ladies that we have lost during the year.
Woody Woodard seconded the motion and the motion passed unanimously.
President Jim Fite called for the Black Camel Report
of all deceased members since the last Association meeting. The following names were read. Frank Jones of Alamin Corpus
Christi, Gordon Williams 90-91 Past TSCA President, Julian Amols, Kirman Smith
Jr., of Alzafar Nemnuf Clowns, Pete Meet of Alzafar Keerville, Charlie Tupper,
and Richard Neal of El Mina Nem Loof, Delbert Stone of Khiva Lubbock, Jack
Simms of Moslah and Edgar Clifton of Suez Abliene.
President Jim Fite asked Chaplain Josh Fite to offer
a prayer in memory of all our deceased members.
President Jim Fite then offered the floor to
Parliamentarian Randell Dunn. Randell
made a motion to pay our web master Barry Lucas a fee of $100.00 for keeping
our web site current. To pay Douglas
King $100.00 for hosting the Clown web site.
While Randall had the floor he requested that a refund be made to Bob
Mantle for purchasing Association Bolos, Logo Pins and 25 year Bolos for
members with 25 years service or more.
The amount to be refunded to Bob was read as follows. 300 ea 25 yr Bolo
@ $753.00,
150 Label Pins @ $300.00, 150 TSCA Bolos @ $525.00
shipping and handling $22.00 total payable $1,600.00.
All three
motions were voted on and passed by unanimous vote.
President Jim Fite then introduced the Officer of
I.S.C.A. that were in attendance. He
thanked them for taking the time to come to Tyler
and for judging our events.
TSA skit, parade and business information was not
available at the midwinter meeting. This
information will be sent to each unit
President when the data becomes available. This year’s skit, parade and business
meeting will be held in Humble, Texas on June 5, 6, 7.
The next order of business was pulling numbers for
skits at TSA. The attached is the order
pulled per unit. The staring time will
be 2:00 PM on Friday June 6, 2003 place to be determined. (1) Arabia Clown
Jewels ( 2) Alzafar Nemnuf, ( 3 ) El Mina Nem Loof, ( 4 ) Ben Hur,
( 5 ) El Mina Braz Clowns, ( 6 ) Sharon, ( 7 )
Moslah, ( 8 ) Suez Abilene, ( 9 ) Hella, ( 10 ) Alzafar Kerrville, ( 11) Al
Amin Corpus,
( 12 ) El Maida, ( 13 ) Karem.. The following units decided they will not
participate. Al Amin Pharr, Khiva
Amarillo, Kiva Lubbock.
Maskat and Suez San Angelo.
The Khiva Clowns from Lubbock presented a check to
the sneaker fund in the amount of $136.00.
Jim Wells from the Hella Clowns made a clown table
that he sold chances on and raised 920.00 for the sneaker fund.
Other donations to the sneaker fund came from the
Kerr Klowns in the amount of $120.00.
The Sharon Clown in the amount of $700.00
and the Sharon Clown ladies made a donation in the
amount of $800.00.
The next order of business was the election of
officers. President Jim Fite put into
nomination the name of George”Pudgie” White
of the
Moslah Clowns for TSCA President for the ensuing year 2003-2004. The nominations were closed and George White
was elected
by acclimation.
First Vice President George White put the name of
Eddie”Fireplug” Cox into nomination for first Vice President for the
ensuring
year 2003-2004. The nominations were
closed and Eddie “Fireplug” Cox was elected by acclimation
President Jim Fite opened the nomination for 2nd
Vice President. Vern King of the Arabia
Clown Jewels put up the name of
Joe “Blades”
Lester. Joe Blades was qualified to be
nominated to the office of 2nd Vice president by meeting all the
requirements
According to the TSCA bylaws. There being no further nominations the
nominations were closed and Joe “Blades” Lester
was elected
to the office of 2nd Vice President.
President Jim Fite then opened the nomination for
Secretary / Treasurer. Randell Dunn of
Hella Shrine put up the name of
Bob “Checkers” Mantle for nomination. There being no further nominations, the
nominations were closed and Bob “Checkers”
Mantle was elected to the office of
Secretary/Treasurer.
President Jim Fite opened the floor for nomination
for Parliamentarian. Odell Kolaczkowski
of the Hella Clowns put up the name
Of Randell “Randy” Dunn toserve as Parliamentarian
for the ensuing year 2003-2004. There
being no further nominations the
Nominations were closed and Randell “Randy” Dunn was
elected Parliamentarian.
President Jim Fite then opened the floor for the
election of three Assemblymen. The
following were elected to serve as
Assemblymen for the ensuing year 2003-2004. Vern “POGO” King of the Arabia Clown Jewels,
Jerry “Larry-ETT” Williams
of the Suez Three Rivers Clowns and Wayne “YO YO”
Duncan of the Alzafar Nemnuf Clown Unit.
Jim thanked everyone for supporting the
Association. He mentioned that at the
awards dinner the Association would be recognizing
106 members who have been active in the Association
for 25 years or longer.
TSCA Chaplain Josh Fite gave the closing invocation.
There being no further business the meeting
adjourned in peace and harmony.
